Supersetting-Lets get it back in group fitness!

Supersetting is a safe and effective musculoskeletal training method wherein one performs two to three exercises, one after the other. There is no rest period in between sets, adding intensity to your workout.
There are many benefits to Supersetting such as time efficiency because workouts are shorter, you are challenged and focused the entire time because there isn¹t a rest period and its an easy program to follow because you can (a) oppose muscles groups, (b) work two completely different body parts and (c) all you need to focus on is two to three exercises for the same muscle group and repeat! Because there is no rest in between you will find that you will be less able to lift the same amount of weight on the second trial and probably less on the third trial.
Supersetting was a very popular method of building muscle, strength and endurance a good five years ago in group fitness. My Supersets class is called Gotham Sets. We rocked then and will rock again! My classes were always full. Why? We introduced a very powerful way of
muscle training as a group fitness team vs. solo on the training floor.
People, and mostly women, were no longer intimidated to pick up weights, work to fatigue and actually see results. Women flocked to these classes because they were finally welcomed to a program that was easy, doable and yours. Men flocked to these classes because they were simply designed to get the job done, not to get lost in choreography.
So I say, lets bring Supersetting back to group fitness! Supersetting worked well then and it will work even better now.

Fitness training can be all gender inclusive and deliver the same results to women and men. If a program worked in the past it will work even better today as we know more than we did then!
