Wow! Never thought I'd be saying that! But I've been knocked right on my butt by what I think is either Lyme disease or some sort of autoimmune disease. I say "I think" because there seems to be virtually no way to truly diagnose this stuff. In spite of what doctors say, there apparently is no true definitive test for Lyme, nor for some of these other "modern" autoimmune disorders. Without true answers, people are being over-diagnosed with MS, Lupus, Sjogren's, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, etc. I was diagnosed with Lyme 10-12 years ago and although I took the antibiotics and the problem supposedly "went away" I was never quite myself after that. I knew something was wrong, and told my doctors that year after year at my regular checkups, but all my medical tests came back normal, so I must be healthy, right? Absolutely wrong, so now I'm not seeing medical doctors anymore, but rather a holistic practitioner who is treating me with herbs and diet changes. As of today, I am just starting to feel a little better, after being down for over a month. That old saying is true - "You don't miss your water til the well runs dry!" We don't even think much about our health until it disappears on us one day.

I'm big on sharing something to help someone else on their own path. So I am sharing this to remind all of you that if you feel something is not right, do go to your doctor. But if you don't find help there, don't just assume you're ok.....move on to someone who can help you feel great. God did not make our bodies to live in the world as we all know it now, with cell phones, computers, 24/7 activities, traffic, and all those other stresses. We must take steps to eliminate some of the stresses on our bodies in order to stay healthy. Probably old hat to some of you out there, but me......I'm learning!

Sue, I am so sorry to hear that you have not been feeling well. Thank you so much for the reminder that we truly do need to listen to our bodies and our intuition. I hope you continue to feel better and please keep us posted.

If you read back in some of the posts you'll find I had a very similar experience Sue. No one knows our bodies and our state of wellness like we do! Western medicine is a science but is also an art in it's purest form. Many of our docs in the U.S. have forgotten about the art and will only treat lab results versus the whole patient. Good news though! I have found a physician referral service in a network of physicians who subscribe to a holistic approach to medice at www.functionalmedicine.org . Functional medicine means to treat the patient, their symptoms, their intuitive feelings about their health and their lifestyle and habits - NOT lab results. I have found an absolutely fabulous western doc from this site that works in tandem with my TCM (tradition Chinese medicine) doc, my naturopath and other holistic practicioners I work with. There are many ways up the mountain when restoring your health from a chronic illness and we, as the patients, are the most reliable expert when it comes to our treatment path. Good luck Sue and keep us posted!!!

The unreality of disease is a concept that says ..."all body malfunctions are the result of negative patterns lodged in the subconscious mind....viruses, bacteria, and heredity dis-ease, are the same as fear patterns, emotional instability, and mental conflicts...."

What does everyone think about this? I'm glad to hear that you're feeling better Sue and I don't mean to diminish your struggle with new age-like concepts in anyway. I'm simply curious to know how you feel about this concept. For instance, I have a friend whose mother developed cancer in her chest. This friend of mine thinks that the cancer is a result from the many years of heartache that her mother internalized from her father.

Placebos are a medical reality and ..."a growing number of doctors agree that there is a healing power within man, and that it is possible for this power to maintain the body in perfect condition...."

Does anyone believe that there is a spiritual life-stream that will keep the body in a state of perfection when human beings realizes the unreality of disease? It's a hard concept to swallow just like the many antibiotics that dope people up and offer band-aid solutions without addressing the cause, which would be the more holistic approach.

Again, congratulations Sue and I'm wishing you the very best!
