How to Stop Panic Attacks

I want to give you a little advice on how to stop panic attacks...

Since I've had panic disorder for nearly 30 years now, I think I can provide a bit of helpful information to you.

The key to stopping panic attacks is to stop them before they happen. Yes prevention. But I'll also show you a few things that you can do while your having a panic attack to stop them as well.

1) Your diet is very critical in balancing your disorder. This will help curb your panic attacks while your most vulnerable with stress and anxiety from everyday life. This means you need to make sure you eat healthy foods. Stay away from crap fast foods and foods that are not known to be very nutrious like sugar cereals, cookies, donuts, candies, etc. I highly suggest eating healthy foods and start taking a high potency multi-vitamin high in B-Complex right away. Its not uncommon to start feeling better within a few days. Interesting to know that foods like bananas, turkey, and carboydrates have precursors to release Serotonin that has calming affects on the body. There are also herbs such as Lemon Balm tea that works well too.

2) If you smoke you need to quit as soon as you can. It still amazes me how people think they can function as a human body while intaking smoke everyday. This will have a major affect on your panic triggers. So stop as soon as you can.

3) Recreation drugs (even some medications and foods) including pot can trigger panic attacks so if your a user or even an occasional users stop right away. Food allergies can also cause panic attacks

4) Rest is just as vitally important as eating healthy to stop your panic attacks before they happen. This is something I learned over the years as I got in tune with my body. Unfortunattely its also a "catch 22" as panic disorder often keeps us awake and fearful before we fall asleep or througout the night. This is where the next important thing you need to do to prevent your panic attacks...

5) Exercise. Walk, run, jog, weight train, play basketball, play with your kids, do whatever it takes to get some exercise. This will help you to not only get better sleep before your mind wanders, but help your body stay healthy overall for the balance that we need to keep a strong mind. A strong mind is key to stopping panic attacks.

I promise you that if you were to follow all these tips, you WILL make your panic attacks stop before they even happen!
